On the 22nd of August in Science we were looking at melting substances. We tested ice, butter, sugar and salt. We found out that butter melted the fasted then ice, sugar and salt. Salt didn’t melt at all and sugar slowly started to melt.. The particles separated and liquified except for the salt and the sugar. This showed us that particles in sugar and salt do not melt. We had to get into groups and worked the times out together. We made them all the same weight so it will be a fear test.
When we put the butter on the tinfoil tray on top of the metal tray and then lit the meths candle. We wrote down our observations of the experiment in our science books as we watched.
For the experiment we needed: butter, sugar, salt, ice, a tinfoil tray and a bunsen burner, a meths candle, a metal tray and a spondonicle.
