Miss Glubb Is Back!

During the holidays and the first week of Term Four Miss Glubb and her Partner

(Alex) went away on a trip. Some countries and cities they went to are; New York, Barcelona, Stockholm, Sweden, Las Vegas, Bangkok, Arizona and much more. She said it was a wonderful trip but she is glad she is back. She bought us all souvenirs back from New York, which was some key rings.           

The whole of 7G is very glad she is back and we have missed her HEAPS!!

Selwyn House School Students Are Famous!!

At 4:30 on Tuesday Selwyn House School had video about the school that was the CTV channel. This video starred some of your amazing teachers and parents at Selwyn House School. This video also starred some of the most important people of the school us!

This video was to promote the school so that people can see what they are missing out on if they don’t come to Selwyn House school. This video is great because it shows or PYP program and shows what subjects we do here.This video was a brilliant idea to help promote the school because lots of people watch CTV and it is also now on Youtube! Also this video shows the opportunities available at Selwyn House School so everyone can see what we do here. Here is the video about Selwyn House School.

On the 27th of May Eliza, Aria, Chloe, Amelia H and Isabel went to Hagley Park to represent the year seven girls in the Independent Zone Cross Country. It was a windy day but that didn't stop us. The year six's went first and then it was the year seven's. We started warming up and were going for jogs up and down the field. They finally called the year seven girls up and our faces were full of determination. The hooter was going to go off in 3-2-1... GO!!! We were off. We ran 3km and we were all happy to have all finished. It was a great day with Paris Carroll coming in second for the year five girls, Eliza Meekings coming in first for the year seven girls and Aria Carroll coming in fifth for the year seven girls also. Selwyn House is very proud of these girls because they are going to represent Selwyn House in the Canterburys. All the girls that represented us at the zones did a really good job and they should be proud of themselves. Thanks to Mrs Taylor for cheering for us on the sidelines and all the parents that helped with transport on the day, we are incredibly grateful.

On the 4th April Selwyn House School had an annual opening day! This was an exciting experience for all especially the parents and kids who were coming around to see our school.

We were excited to see all the visitors looking at our and all the girls were nice and welcoming to our visitors.

The year eights did a great job showing the visitors around the school and introducing them to teachers and staff.

On Saturday 15th Selwyn House School hosted their annual School Fair! There was great excitement from students, parents and the public.

It was an exciting day from food and drinks to a pamper room or massage. There was also lots of games/rides including lots of bouncy castles, live entertainment, a white elephant and even a Devonshire Tea.

The crowd was buzzing with excitement as soon as they walked into the gates. The day was a tremendous effort from everyone and all the girls brought their manners with them.

Of course, none of this wouldn’t be possible without all the effort that the parents and the teachers put in. Each year group made a different type of food or treat and ran their own stall with help from all the parents and teachers.

We know that most of the people reading this didn’t go to the fair, but don’t worry because we have attached a video so that you can still experience of being at the fair. Enjoy!

Overall, the fair was a terrific experience for all, and I know that we all enjoyed ourselves.
